Carol Hegedus, the owner/artist of Handmade Tile Studio, specializes in creating handcrafted tiles that are inspired by nature -- birds, flowers, leaves, and insects, etc.  Each mosaic style art tile is hand-cut from soft high-fire clay. Then it is dried, glazed with brilliant colors, and fired in a kiln up to four times.  The tiles are of the highest quality and artisanship and each is one-of-a-kind. Due to the nature of handmade ceramics, slight variations in size, color, or accents add to the charm of each piece.  All of the tiles are 3/16th inch thick and are weather tolerant. 
           These decorative art tiles lend themselves to an endless variety of possibilities.  Carol combines them into colorful mosaic murals and also sells the individual tiles to other mosaic artists.  Special order murals and tables or custom made individual tile orders are always welcome.
