LOCATION: Harlow Gardens, 5620 E. Pima St. Tucson, AZ. Several projects are offered at any of the classes: Add tiles to a cross or wooden box, create a framed mosaic picture, or decorate a clay pot. We will be working outside under Harlow's pavilion so please dress accordingly. Be sure to wear old clothes or bring a coverup--grouting can be messy! Bring rubber gloves for grouting and your lunch/snacks.
CREATE A FRAMED MOSAIC, CROSS, OR WOOD BOX: You will begin by selecting your handmade tiles from a large assortment and designing your mosaic. Next, you will adhere the tiles with mastic and let them dry while you take a lunch break. When you return from lunch, you will grout your piece. By the end of class, you will have a lovely mosaic masterpiece to take home that you can place indoors or outside for your enjoyment.
Included in the class price are all the tiles you can fit into your project and the supplies you need to complete it.

When you register for the class, you need to designate which project you wish to do and it must be paid in full. If you need to cancel, a full refund will be given if you cancel 7 days prior to the class. If you cancel less than 7 days prior, your fee can be applied to another class during the current season only. No refunds or credits for no-shows.
DECORATE A CLAY POT: If you decide to decorate a clay pot, he first step is to select the pot you wish to use. Harlow Gardens has a wonderful selection of beautiful pots that can be purchased at class time or you may bring something that you have obtained elsewhere. The pot must be clean inside and out and empty. Glazed or unglazed pots can be used (no plastics). Flat-sided pots are easiest to work with.
After you have your pot, you can select the tiles for decorating it, create your design and adhere the tiles with mastic. The mastic will dry while you take a lunch break; after lunch, you'll grout your pot. When the class ends, you'll have a lovely, unique pot to take home that you can fill with plants and use indoors or outside.
A registration fee of $20 will reserve your space in this class. Decorative tiles will be priced individually and you can select them according to your budget. When the tiles you've used have been tallied, your $20 registration fee will be credited to your project purchases.

Note: Most people are able to complete their project by the end of class time. If you work slower and are not done by 1:30, it may be necessary for you to finish your project at home. If this is the case, a demonstration will be given so you know how to complete your project and supplies will be provided.
